In regards to Erica and Omi...

Frequent readers have been wondering about my shameless and unimaginative character insertion in my latest story, Roads Leading Back, as well as the choice that one specific character is willing to make. I figure I should add my views to clarify a few things.

The whole character behind Omi Cronus is a man torn irreparably asunder by the loss of his first and only love. He is a man that can no longer feel that type of strong emotion and does not want to seek that connection again for fear of such a link being broken again, and the repercussions of such a thing happening once more. He is still capable of compassion, but he does not want to restrict himself to just one woman. There are plenty of men that dream of having more than one woman at his side with said women only wanting his acceptance without feeling jealous towards each other, and Omi Cronus is a man that has had that dream come true for him. He buys battered women from pimps, takes homeless women off the streets and fearful women from their broken homes. He offers them his home, takes them under his wing, gives them the proper care they need, and offers them either the opportunity to work in his business, or step away and find a new life.

He runs a chain of sexual fetish clubs and is known in the city's Red Light District as The Master, as what you would designate the male superior in any given S&M situation. Many consider it prostitution, but first and foremost, his business' primary objective is to sate the desires of the fetishists that come to him. The women that work for him understand that and he makes that statement clear to any and all that claim his clubs to be nothing more than perverted prostitution. The women working for him have become strong, independent women that have regained their self-confidence and are very loyal to Omi Cronus for giving them the open door necessary to find themselves again.

Now that we have shed some light on Omi, I should shed some light on Erica...

Erica is a young woman that was sexually abused by her father when she was seventeen. Because of that, she sees the simple act of sex as disgusting and vile, and sees herself as dirty for doing such acts to her father. After Jennifer and Erica were taken under Omi's wing and liberated from her father, she was initially relieved to be freed from her father, and is cautious of Omi after she finds out what it is he does.

After living under Omi's care and being treated with nothing less than respect from everyone in Omi's mansion, be it Omi, Jennifer, or any of the girls working for Mr. Cronus, she has seen the positive effect that Omi has given off. The women working for him that she has talked to have told her that he is a gentle man and can be trusted with anything. They have told her that he made them feel important, taught them of a human's more taboo desires, and how to sate the desires of those that depend on perversity for that kind of release. He has taught them to be strong in will (many of the women that work for him play submissive roles) and to remember that, despite the roles they play in their workplace, they are as strong as their customers. Erica sees this to be true and wants those redeeming qualities. Unfortunately, that is all she sees and wants that side of Omi to herself. She is unaware of the broken soul and wants the image of the man exclusively for herself.

I know that it's tough to swallow, but I feel that it should shed some better light on the two most confusing characters in my latest story.
